Hello,
It happen to me twice now. After posting a result back to thr grid server the UD client loses its config and comes back with the initial registration screen. No errors shown, nothing. All I see is that the last result returend is one of 1 second (allthough I known the client was working on it for some time) Did anyone else encountered this? |

biotoop, this is very strange. A while back we had one member complain that her Agent was unable to restore the checkpoint if she shut down her laptop and had to start all over again. Everything else seemed fine. She finally reinstalled the WCG Agent and everything suddenly worked the way it should. So it is possible for something to 'corrupt' the Agent.
The first thing to try is a un-install followed by a complete reinstallation on the Join Now page. Be sure to check the box saying that you are already a member while registering. If that does not fix the problem, then report it here. If it does fix it, then after you are sure please post that here too. You are the first person to report this precise problem. You can always find this thread by clicking on SEARCH at the top of the Forum and then entering 'biotoop' in the member name of the advanced search menu. It will show you all your posts. I've had this problem on 2 different computers.
The first problem occured in the system with deviceID 50994. I was trying to get the UD client running as a service there so I though that was the cause of the problems. I reinstalled the UD client (got a new DeviceID) there and it's running fine since then. On the second computer (deviceID 51002) the UD client was running fine for 20 days and this morning I realized when checking my stats that the expected result from this systems (system at work I can check via remote connect software) was still not come in. When I had a look the registration page was showing. I just reregistered the client and got a new DeviceID. I'll wait and see if good results come back now, if not I'll uninstall and reinstall also. I don't think the client is actually crashing but somehow resets itself when it can't return the last result successfully. (Reset = project and checkpoint files completly gone) Perhaps something can be found in the logs on the central server (if there is one), the deviceID's ar in the text above. Could be handy to have a local log you can check to see when the last result was returned. |

All I see is that the last result returned is one of 1 second (allthough I known the client was working on it for some time) Did anyone else encountered this? #1 Maybe someone is SWITCHING to a differant USERid and screwing up Win-XP - it happens here often [fast switching is currently BROKE - whereas F@H use to work NO-MATTER who/whom got switched to] causing the user to re-D/L the UD Agent past the anomaly- msg [start / d/l manually] to a directory. [didn't know that WU could be saved by over copying previous wcGRID info to the NEWEST installed AGENT] #2 some smart-aleck joined our group [ AUDIOCTRL ] and left a bunch or results/WU's / [per] sec each w/ no POINTZ! - needs further investigation ie: kill app/restart app...] ![]() |
