The results status page is confusing, to say the least. If you click on each Workunit name, it gives details (usually 3-4 sets) for that work unit. As far as I can tell, the Status, CPU Time, and Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit columns are filled in at random from one of those 3-4 sets of data and are therefore totally useless. Is there any way to get the Results page to display anything resembling the full status?

WYSIWYG.
----------------------------------------The meaning of the various statuses is explained here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105#48791. All records in the detail is integer, nothing random other than when the page is populated from the server, it is presented in the order they were extracted from the database. Have u tried employing the filters and the sort functions in the column headers? In the detail, your copy is highlighted in orange. The sample screen shot is after hitting the time sort e.g. And no, WCG is a hybrid of UD and BOINC, so drilling thru to see even more detail status, but for the own machine is not possible at this time. The pages were revised in late Q4-06 and retracted due some bugs that showed on first use. Expect it to be reissued in the near future. cheers PS, u may know some of the above, but any new visitor might not, hence the over-completeness of the reply. Critiquing is fine, long as the observation demonstrates that past discussion was reviewed before posting and the comments are constructive. ;-)

In the detail, your copy is highlighted in orange. Ah, thanks. That small detail, which I've never seen mentioned anywhere, makes everything much clearer. What can one do when, for a particular workunit, the status is given as "error" and nothing at all is displayed when clicking on that status link? Is there any way to tell what kind of error there was and at what stage, so as to not lose all that work? |

Go one level up and find the problem WU, than click on the 'error' link. If you have an error, than review the BOINC message tab log for indicators. Usually there are and mostly resulting from extraneous client side events.
