Download UD Tweaker and activate the Enable dual-processor support if you have a dual core.
I have a Core 2 Duo, and with the Tweak program from WCG and UDTweaker I have my both cores at 100 %. I can produce 10 HMD calculs per day. Try, every dual core needs to be well used. |

hmmmm, whilst on the surface this unsupported 3rd party utility may work, it can corrupt work units without the client knowing. Reading at fora, that interruption can cause for an agent to pull a new work unit without finishing the present and that one not even being returned (thus no scoring). Recommendation there is to only use on 24/7 machines. Unless set to run HCMD only available on UD agent in phase 1, advise to migrate to BOINC where HPF2 is now also in Beta 2 test. Phase 2 HCMD will also run on BOINC. BOINC uses all cores if the device profile has been configured to do so (default is 4 cores!).
----------------------------------------Anyone else and could this be up retsof's lane? Errate: Not wanting to spoil the fun, the DPC UD Agent FAQ explicitly says Do Not Use. Would strongly advise after implementation and processing a few WU's, to send mail to contact_us requesting to confirm result integrity. Include device number and member name.

No. I have some experience with UDMonitor, not UDTweaker.
----------------------------------------The easy answer is BOINC and BOINC for each core.

Here's a post ripped from Grid.org...... for if u *must* run UD agent on two core machines and side by side. Unsupported And At Your Own Peril:
----------------------------------------Orbi-tel wrote: The UD agent knows nothing about dual processors. It is using 100% of one core but due to the way windows deals with 2 processors, Windows thinks only 50% is in use. I.e. Windows is giving you incorrect info on the usage of both processors. The only way to run 2 UD agents (so each one will run on its own processor) is to install UD in 2 separate directories and use the compatibility mode to run one of the ud.exe apps under win98/2000.

*shudder*
I strongly recommend the official solution: BOINC. BOINC is better. |

*shudder* I strongly recommend the official solution: BOINC. BOINC is better. Why is it that everytime I hear the word BOINC a bouncing ball always come into my mind? ![]() |
