The Associated Press reported that the journal of "Nature Genetics"
NEW YORK -- A huge international study has identified a gene that apparently can raise the risk of developing the most common form of Alzheimer's disease, .... ..... versions of the gene, called SORL1. .... ...gene plays as big a role in causing the disease as APOE [?] does. Anyone know if our grid played any role in this research path? |

----------------------------------------About 6 months (mid 2006) ago a study presented at a Spanish congress showed another path to getting it: Obesity>Overweight>Diabetes type 2>Alzheimer and the prediction that many in the overeating western world will get it! Published a few days ago a specific eating control project in the Netherlands showed that with Type 2, it was possible to reduce insulin injections or stop the need all together, by the mere loss of 10 / 12 kilo's and a balanced / nutritionally correct food intake (The severely overweight needed to loose lots more). Many deceases hang together....your body is a Palace that needs to be maintained BEFORE decay!

Here a link to a NYT article on a Alzheimer study: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/14/health/14cn...=homepage&oref=slogin .... Two geneticists at Massachusetts General Hospital, Lars Bertram and Rudolph Tanzi, have tried to bring order to this confused field by combining the data from many different studies. Would not this "combined data ... many different studies" fall right into the "Genome Comparison Project" ? Someone should touch base with them? |
