I just tried to found out the best day for my team and could not found it.
----------------------------------------May be it would be a good idea to add in the stats the best record for time, points and results with the day this occured for each team and each member. I don't know if this request need a lot of work but this could help us to try to reach records that would be good for science anyway as in that kind of competition, we would let PC run more and more. |

Similar to the global stats where u can select different historical views, u can go to the 'my grid', click at bottom on the team name and list out all daily scores. 14, 30, 60, 365 days and page thru them. A quick visual scan surely will 'reveal' the best day. Copy/past the listing into spreadsheet and sort descending and u are always up to speed.
----------------------------------------My team had its best day ever, last x-mas eve as of this writing. cheers

A month ago, when I was still running UD, I was going to ask why other stats weren't being presented (like individual machines best points/results ratio and other things). With UD delivering immediate points returns, these stats mean something. They were showing with high accuracy what work the machines where doing. Not so with BOINC.
Since there typically is a substantial delay in BOINC points returns, their meaning and relevance is dubious. I've had amazing days, and I've had very low days, yet I know the total amount of work being returned daily is very consistent. The validation delay skews the results and stats so that they mean very little. I simply know that over a longer period (i.e. months) my monthly totals should be consistent. |

Down to the individual/machine, that is surely true, but the larger the team, the more consistent the value should be, with some fluctuation similar to the global stats.
----------------------------------------To add to my earlier post, many teams offload the daily stats and run their various team, subteam and member stats in sometimes quite sophisticated ways. BOINC clients, because of many projects working with delayed validation, often use the RAC (Recent Average Credit) as a reference. That said, if all would stick to the standard buffer of 0.1days, and WCG usually with an uptime of > 98% (current 98.97%) on average one can, all would more or less be validated instantaneous. The 0.1 Days is long enough to even overcome the longest scheduled outage of Sunday & Wednesdays back-ups. We dont expect folk to stick to that as there are too many varying needs......e.g. one downloads Sunday night a 5 day buffer, unplugs the ADSL, goes on a trip and hooks up to upload the results on Saturday morning. Many happy faces around the globe with those reaching quorum that morning.
