Hi !
I'm currently with version 1.0.1.1 and I can't adjust CPU throttle as I want. Whatever the value I enter with WCGridMaxCPU.exe, it's reported in WCG settings, ok. But wcgridHCMD.exe is always using 50 % of my cpu ! It's a core 2 duo, but if it was a single core then it would be 100%. With Defeat Cancer it worked fine. So maybe there's a bug ?! ![]() |

Hello [AF>HFR] groslolo,
----------------------------------------It sounds as though you have got the throttle up to 100%. The problem is that the UD client was programmed years ago and can only run one thread. So even at 100% you can only use 1 core of your dual core CPU. The newer BOINC client can run multiple threads. Here are the instructions for changing from UD to BOINC: http://www.wcgwiki.org/en/boinc/migration.cfm Lawrence Added: Oops. Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy only runs on UD right now. We do not plan to add it to BOINC until the second half of 2007. But if you like you can run both the UD client and 1 thread of other projects under BOINC by specifying that BOINC run at most 1 thread. Thanks for your answer !
----------------------------------------About BOINC, I read it doesn't support HCMD yet. So maybe I'll have to wait. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by [AF>HFR] groslolo at Dec 29, 2006 11:11:04 PM] |
