BOINC users looks like it might be a good idea to switch to the emergency UD agent

Looks like this might take some time to resolve ( at least a work unit length or 2 anyway ) so if your CPU(s) is(are) idling for the first time in months break out the UD agent (If you're running windows)

Keep 'em crunching let's not let a slight technical hitch stop us

Mrs Trellis of North Wales might get some points to "her" name who knows wink

However if you already run UD at UD you cannot switch as they will not both run together.....unlike the Boinc version

...or at the very least, shut down and blow the dust out of your systems. I am certainly not used to my systems being this quiet... Kind of eerie actually. biggrin

I am a little too attached to Boinc to go back to UD. I think I will point the two crunchers here at home at another project for a day or two.

It was the chill in my "office" that gave it away biggrin

It's freezing in the UK, Global Warming bah humbug

Top idea though CKizer to do the spring cleaning early to make for a computation error free 2007.

Seasons Greeting to all at the WCG.

I'm a miserable old soul at this time of year only just getting in the mood for crimbo. The days are getting longer again in the northern hemisphere that's got to be good news

Re: BOINC users looks like it might be a good idea to switch to the emergency UD agent

btw if you do go back to the UD agent while BOINC things get sorted don't forget that the UD agent has been hamstrung since you last gave it a whirl. To restore full occupancy of that twiddling thumb cpu of yours don't forget the throttle software over at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=cpuuse#230

Let's crunch biggrin

Re: BOINC users looks like it might be a good idea to switch to the emergency UD agent

I run BOINC as a service and only for WCG, so I just suspended the project and disabled the service.

UD was already installed on both machines but not used, but they started right in when I started UD.
