confused Help with testing...

I've just been trying to test stability with Boinc as I feel that if the PC can manage to run a few units without having any problems, its stable for me and a overclock.

I've tried other programs but they never help, even if its 12 hours stable on one thing, it wont be with Boinc..

How can I get it to give me more tasks to try as sometimes it doesnt manage a complete task, so I cancel it and hope for another task straight after.

Is there a way of doing this?? Please help!

I've found some settings that said connect to network and they where on .4, I have upped it to .8 will that help??

Please reply soon!!

Re: Help with testing...

Thats cool :) They have now connected and downloaded some more work tasks :)

Is there anyway I can have a few in reserve just incase things stop working again? I only seem to have the two units (for the two cores) at any one time... Is that right??

The connect to the network is set to .3??

That means that you would only receive the amount of workunits that you can complete in 7.2 hours (three tenths of a day). It estimates that you can run 2 in that amount of time. Change it to [2 or 3] days and you should get some more workunits in reserve. Don't set it too close to 7 or workunits could be sent too late if the power goes off or something.

The default was only 0.1 (2.4 hours).

Re: Help with testing...

I assume the above link is where I go to change the settings for it?? I have changed it to 2 days. Is that gonna be ok on a dual core system?
