Re: HOW FAR ARE WE?

A little off the track. I seen a show on the discovery channel showing people who were exposed to the HIV virus through blood transfusions back in the 1980's.

The people who were exposed to the AIDS virus never developed the disease which baffled scientists. Eventually, they determined the people all had something in common. They had a defect in their cells. I believe they were missing something called a "CCR5" receptor site. Apparently, the virus can't attach and inject into a without that site.

I don't know if this will ever help people with HIV/AIDS who have that receptor site.

Re: HOW FAR ARE WE?

Also, I don't know if it is true or not. I have heard conspiracy theories which state the intent of the FDA and drug companies NOT to cure. The goal is to create "dependency" because it was found to be more profitable for the drug companies many of it's employee's also work for the FDA.

The protocols are written in such a way that drug companies MUST follow them to gain the FDA endorsements. The protocols are written out to "treat the symptoms" and not to cure. Therefore, any drugs developed are not designed or intended to cure. We only "treat symptoms" in this country under the FDA guidelines.

There is no cure for cold sores(herpes) according to the FDA/drug companies for instance. Yet, if you apply a water/baking soda paste on the sore the first time you contract then it may never come back. It dries the sore out killing the virus and also causes your immune system to respond. The herpes virus is designed to NOT cause a response or be properly detected.

Blah!

Re: HOW FAR ARE WE?

That latter post is very much off topic and belongs in the conspiracy thread. Eventually something will surface and since there is the arms-race of the various economical conglomerates speak Europe / USA, i doubt a powerful and permanent suppressor can be stopped to come to surface.

My hope is, that eventually Darwinian evolution will make a step change and allow more and more HIV positive persons to develop a natural resistance...... those are the once, that have the highest interest.

Re: HOW FAR ARE WE?

Some people are SOOO negative.

Like the people saying that it was impossible to fly, go to the moon etc.

In the long run the aidsvirus is chanceless against human technological inovation. Like nanotech, faster computers, new substances etc

In my opinion Aids is fighting a loosing battle.

Lets spread WCG!

Check this site:
http://www.wcgwiki.org

I think if people change their behavior (e.g. using condoms), we can eliminate the Virus in some Regions.
