I installed Bonic on my Mac a few days ago (maybe a week). In that time it has finished several of the work packages/tasks. However, I do not see that anything has been reported or credited, even after several days. I am beginning to this my computer is churning on these things of hours on end and the results are just disappearing at the end and I am contemplating stopping my participation altogether. Am I doing something wrong or am I looking in the wrong place?

Welcome to the WCG Fora,
----------------------------------------Nothing is disappearing, unless the Einstein/Hawking theories need revision. Have a look on Result Status Pages and click on a workunit name for detail status report. It can take up to a week and longer before a quorum 3 is completed (3 identical copies returned of same work unit, by different computers). cheers

ah, ok, thank you. I thought I looked everywhere but I guess I missed this page. So I will see these as "final" or "credited" results once they have been verified against the others who are working on them?
Also, I see that one of these reports as an error. I looked at the log. It looks like something crashed (?) I am not sure if this is something I did or did my computer mess something up in the data? |

U'd have to post the offending lines and a few more from before and after and past them here in a post, to allow us some understanding. These lines should include the name of the problem work unit. Post also your Computer ID (somewhere at beginning of message log). 'Error' is definitely a client computer event.
----------------------------------------To copy, go to the message tab in BOiNC, select the messages, hit the copy selection button in left margin.

Actually I was looking at the "Results Status" page on the Web. It shows one of my reported work units (B10653_0200_CTMA3B1-11-25-22-c2) with a status of "error." When I click on that it gives the following Result Log. From what I can tell I ran out of disk space. I know this isn't a physical limitation of my system as I have plenty of space available (>100 gig), so I am not sure what it means.

Yes, it does look like that. We've had occasional work units that grew larger than their internal restriction of e.g. 0.5gb. Review in the BOiNC message log, to see similar flags and copy/paste them here.
----------------------------------------Please verify: If u go to your BOiNC profile u need to increase your disk allocation to 2.0 gb, and ensure that virtual memory has enough space to grow. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...iguration.do?name=Default Find setting (just under the time schedule options): Use no more than: 2.0 Gigabytes. When saved, return to BOiNC, and hit Update in the projects tab, left margin.

ok, did that. Strangely enough the setting before was set to "use no more than 100 gig!" (I don't remember changing this setting before) I set it to 2 as you suggested and updated Boinc.
I looked through the Boinc log and only found one error related to exceeding disk quota or similar. I tried copying the log with the buttons on the left but it never transferred them to my clipboard (bug?). Thinking I may get a better result I quit and restarted Boinc. Then I discovered that this erased my previous logs. So, sorry but can't provide them. Hope this helps though. |

U can find all past messages in the 'stdoutdae.txt' file of the program directory.
----------------------------------------100gb is a tad overdone. No idea if that could cause for BOiNC to balk, but doubt that very much, as it will only take what it needs, when it's allowed to take it.
