Well...I have just installed the client and I really think these projects are usefull!! Just 2 questions:
1) Is it possible to increase the cpu usage of the process? When I'm away from the pc, it always uses 30% of the CPU. Is it possible to allow it to use 100% of it? 2) Is my work "saved" when I power off my pc or does it restart from the beginning? Thank to all |

hi!
----------------------------------------by the way do you have a dual core computer? it is possible to run at 100% all the time; i do. there is a tool for adjusting that percentage. i think this is the link: http://worldcommunitygrid.org/files/WCGridMaxCPU.exe "After downloading the tool, run it, set the slider to the desired percentage and click OK." the projects do save (checkpoint) work, at various points. i will let someone else give you the details  [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 3, 2006 11:37:18 AM] |

Yes I have a Dual Core CPU...a Pentium D 2,6Ghz. Is this important?
I set it to 100% and it results 50% usage in the task manager. |

The UD agent will only use one core. I believe there is some tweak someplace where you can utilize both, but the best bet if you want to use both cores at 100% would be BOINC. There are a number of threads which address the issue.
