I have an HDC work unit that using 367,792 K on Windows (as reported by task manager). Is this normal? This work unit is causing my machine (1200 AMD Athlon with 768 MB RAM) to show symptoms of trashing.

Yes it's normal. Most of the time, HDC uses about 100MB, but it peaks at up to 500MB. This is why the minimum requirements for HDC are so high.
If you are experiencing thrashing, then you probably need to defrag (and defrag your pagefile as well). |
