Multiple Download

Hi all,
i have installed PhocaDownload on a website (
http://www.iceboat.ch) to download zip files containing jpegs.
Everything works fine if i download only one zip at a time. If i try to download several files in parallel, the files are truncated and the zips corrupt.
Has anyone experienced similar problems ?
Is this problem related to phocadownload or rather to my hosting provider ?
Thank you very much for any advice.

Hi Jan,
thank you for responding so quickly.
I have performed some further tests. It doesn't happen always, but on
http://www.iceboat.ch, i have several files around 100MB big.
In Firefox, if i start downloading 2 or 3 of those plus a smaller one (~30MB), the download of all stops as soon as the smallest file finished, the larger files are truncated. In IE7, the same happens. Also in IE7, i tried first just one file and the download didn't complete, the file was truncated.
I became aware of this problem because some users complained about it.
Maybe, if you have some time, you can give it a try on our site, under "DN World Championship 2010 A-Fleet" and then some of the first files + the file WcAFleetRace3.zip.
Otherwise, i'm quite happy with PhocaDownload and also PhocaGallery, congratulations for the good job.
Thank you and very best regards,
Ueli

Hi, no idea what can be wrong there? Did you check the server settings, if there is no some limitation, e.g. to simultaneous download or etc.

Hi Jan,
i've already checked the server settings but didn't find anything. I will give it a second tray and maybe also ask some support from the provider, it's a shared hosting.
Did you try a download from our site ?
Users keep complaining, if we can't figure it out, i might have to look for another solution. I'm a developer but i hav no skills in php and pretty poor ones in web technologies at all so it might take me too long to sort this out.
Anyway, thanks for your support,
ueli

Hi, I have tested with Firefox ( simultaneous download of 2 files from your server) - one file was download, one file not - it ends with 39 MB instead of 80 - maybe try to see some settings on your server. I have tested both similar files to download on my localhost (maybe not the perfect testing but without any problems) one with 120MB, one with 60MB ?

Hi Jan,
i have also tried the thing locally which works perfectly. Well in fact the dowload is so quick, that the first one completes before you're able to start a second one.
I have asked the provider about the Server-Settings. He asks back, what specific settings do you mean. Did you think of any particular setting(s) on the server side ?
Thanks and best regards,
ueli

Hi, yes the localhost ist not good for testing in 100%
The problem is, I am not server expert. On my server I have no such problems, so didn't find such settings - so this is only idea if there can be some settings which can limit it... but really don't know if there is some
Maybe trying it on some other server to test it 100% will say more
