Dear Phoca,

After clicking the button 'Download' for a selected file, I receive the following error:
Warning: Header may not contain more than a single header, new line detected. in .../jo_dev/components/com_phocadownload/helpers/phocadownload.php on line 109 (../ is the full root path)

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at (../ is the full root path) .../jo_dev/components/com_phocadownload/helpers/phocadownload.php:109) in /(../ is the full root path) .../jo_dev/components/com_phocadownload/helpers/phocadownload.php on line 110

This is then followed by a binary list of the file, such as this:

Code: Select all

I have upgraded today to the latest version 1.3.1, Joomla 5.14, default template. It occurs both on FireFox as well as IE6

Where should I look into or what should I change?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi, no idea what this should mean? I am testing it with 1.5.15 and get no such problem. Try to check your code if there is not sent somewhere some header?

Thanks for replying,

I reminded that the files with this error were all msExcel files. So, I tried as .zip files.
No error, a normal download as it should be.

So, conclusion (or should I have read the manual): .xls files go wrong when downloading...

Maybe you should try to change the mime type of the excel files.

Hello Phoca Hero,
I have the similar problem - instead of headers already sent messages -.
So when I hit the download I can see the binary data in the browser.
What should I check/change?
Thanks in advance,
Ducsi

I'm getting an error for downloading files from front end. Have tried remository, phoca download but the problem persists.

When I click to download the file it opens a blank page with ÐÏࡱá written in it.

The error started after I upgraded Joomla from 1.5.18 to 1.5.20.

I am also having similar error with converting the documents into PDF by Phoca PDF. Have tried all available solutions but none have worked till now.

My Website : www.vanitanigoo.info
My hosting server is godaddy.
php version is 5.2.x

Very strange....this error persists for me even in the following environment.

Joomla 1.6
Phoca Download 2.0 Alpha 1
Php 5.2.8 - all settings are ok

I wiped out my previous version of Joomla 1.5.20 along-with the database.

SOLVED

My website is hosted by Godaddy and its a free version which was given with domain purchase. :)

I researched about their preloaded applications and got to know that in free webhosting they have made the new versions of Joomla as not compatible(probably they have introduced some restrictions).

Hence some features like file downloads, pdf facility are not working.

Got to shift to some other free hosting.....

Got the info at https://hostingconnection.godaddy.com/A ... oomla.aspx (login required)
