Play/Preview outside public_html

Hi,
Is there a solution to place files outside of public_html AND play/preview them?

Up to now I dont think so, because of the flash player which needs an absolute html-path, am I right??
Download works great, but no play/preview function.

Please let me know, if there is a solution (-> In the sense of protecting files outside public_html)

Thanks in supporting me!
Johannes

P.S.: There is probably a further bug: if the "alias-name" of the File contains a '.' the "play" function isn't working anymore

Hi, this is not bug but it is a feature. There are a lot of features and some combination of them will not work together. E.g. you can save files outside public_html but you cannot play files outside public_html :(

What you mean with:
.' the "play" function isn't working anymore
If I play e.g. music.mp3 file, I see no problem there?

"music.mp3" works, but not "musik.contains.dots.inside.the.name.mp3" or simply "music.interpret.mp3" isn't working, I wrote a parse function to eliminate dots in the "alias" variable before submitting thet php survey (backend).
