I can create folders and load stuff into them in the backend (as administrator) but then cannot see them in the frontend.
The folders are all created inside the phocadownload folder, but just don't appear anywhere in the frontend

Any ideas, anyone...?

In the backend, I do PhocaDownload - Files - New - Filename file browser - Create Folder to make a folder, then
PhocaDownload - Files - New - Filename file browser - Select folder - Upload File to put a file in it. Everything is visible in
the file browser, but not in backend PhocaDownload - Files, nor in frontend.

BTW, I'm using Joomla 1.5.14, PHP5, Phoca Download 1.3.1.

Is the file published, is the category published, is the category displayed for public, the same with file?

Yes...
The directories are chmod 777, the files are world readable. I can see the files in the category, but not the folders

In the backend, I created a section called 'Media'. In this section, I made a category 'Documents'.
From the backend, I select section 'Media' and category 'Documents' and upload a file. To upload a file, I select 'Files' and 'New'. then click on the File button to the right of the Filename box. The pane that opens shows me a list of files previously uploaded and folders previously created. To upload a file I go to the Upload File section at the bottom of the pane, click on the Browse button, select the file then click on the upload button. Files uploaded this way are accessible in the frontend.
Underneath the Upload File section is a section labelled 'Folder'. I enter a name in the box and click on the Create Folder button. A folder of that name is created in the phocadownloads folder - and listed in the file upload pane, but is not visible in the frontend. Have I missed the point and/or purpose of the Create Folder function in the file upload pane?

Hi, in frontend users cannot see folders on the server, they can only see categories. (categories - database layer, folders - filesystem layer)
