Hello,
Is it possible to set that files can be deleted/updated ONLY by the original uploader (reg user/frontend)?
In remository this is possible but we want to move away from remository and need this setting

Hi, I don't know what do you exactly mean with "remository" but users in frontend can manage only their files or files which they have rights to do.

Hi Jan, is it possible in PD for users to upload in the frontend to one of the categories (not a user specific 'own' category), and is it possible that the original uploader of a file is the only one that can delete/edit his uploaded files, so no other reg users can delete or edit.
users should be able to delete and/or modify only the files they have uploaded themselves, is that possible?

Hi, it all depends on user rights. If user has rights to upload/delete files then he/she is able to do, if user does not have rights to do for category, then he/she is not able to do.

So if someone uploads files to his/her category, nobody other (except administrator) can delete the files (if there are no rights for doing this)

Hi Jan,
Thanks, people upload to main categories, so not to their own user categories. If they upload to main categories (where other people also upload to) they have no control over their own uploaded files by default but to all files in that category.
Therefore all users that have access to that category can modify/delete all files, also files that someone else uploaded and that is not what it should be.
The files uploaded by user x in category y should always stick to the original uploader, files can be seen/downloaded by other users but only the original uploader has delete rights.
If that is not possible with PD we have to check another download extension.

Hi, yes, as written, all is managed by rights for the category, so if users upload to category where they have rights to delete, then they can delete all files there. If users should manage own files only, they should upload only to own category.
