No Itemid after i click on category

I'm getting strange behavior from Phoca Gallery 4.2.2 (actually it was same with 4.2.1) and Joomla 3.4.5
I have one main menu which leads to Phoca Gallery » List Of Categories (Categories View)
I see the categories here, but when i click on any of them it seems like the component isn't parsing the Itemid, instead it transfers the user to the default menu itemid.
On the other hand, if you choose the category via the Phoca gallery module, it works fine.
Link to site
Any idea what might be the problem?

Hi,
Any idea what might be the problem?
It seems to be that the missing thumbnails are not created. Go to the Phoca Gallery
Options and set
Enabel Thumbnails Generation=Yes. Then go to the backend -> Components -> Phoca Gallery -> Images
and create the missing thumbnails.
Kind reards,
Benno

I'm recreating them at the moment (i have quite large gallery which i just updated from J2.5) but will this fix the Itemid issue? Again, if you see the top menu when you open the link, it's the link to the Phoca Gallery » List Of Categories (Categories View), clicking on any gallery from the Phoca menu module (above the galleries) works fine, but if you click on the galleries directly the main website menu changes and instead of the phoca menu to be active (Itemid=205), the user sees the images under the main menu (Itemid=113)

Hi,
i have quite large gallery which i just updated from J2.5
1.) Did you follow this migration guide?
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... o-joomla-3
2.) I can see you use spaces and special characters for file names. (E.g.
http://motori.com.mk/mk/images/phocagal ... 101%29.jpg)
It's not recommended to do this. (Because some servers still have problems to handle this kind of file names..)
3.) Regarding ItemID/SEF see: #2
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ent/24-faq
In your case it's not error 404 but peculiar ItemID's...
BTW. What will happen if you disable SEF?
Kind regards,
Benno

For the migration yes, I've followed the guide and everything went fine, I'm recreating all thumbnails because Id like to use the new layout. As for the filenames I never had issue before so I don't think it will be problem now.
Sef is disabled.

Can someone tell me where can i find the template view file which opens when i click on Phoca Gallery » List Of Categories (Categories View) from the main menu? I assume i can hardcode the itemid in the link inside.

Ok i found it myself:
/components/com_phocagallery/views/categories/tmpl/default_categories.php
line 16:
Code: Select all
echo '<a href="'.$cv->link.'&Itemid=205">'. "\n";
line 36:
Code: Select all
echo '<div class="pg-csv-name"><a href="'.$cv->link.'&Itemid=205">'.PhocaGalleryText......
works like a charm now, thou i'd have to make the same changes on every update :S

Hi,
Fine, that you found a solution. I didn't test it, as you are lucky with these amendments
works like a charm now, thou i'd have to make the same changes on every update :S
You could use a template override >
https://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/overrides/ then it would not be overwritten after an update.
a) either you have already a html file in your template, if not:
b) create html file in your template
c) copy your file: /components/com_phocagallery/views/categories/tmpl/default_categories.php to:
d) templates/your template/
html/com_phocagallery/categories/default_categories.php
e) make your changes there.
Kind regards, Christine
