theme selection

Dear User,

usually I'm always trying to solve extension issues on my own, but setting up phoca gallery is giving me a really hard time now! So far I understand that at the beginning you have to configure the component, afterwards you have to upload and to configure the gallery menu module. And there's the point, where I stucked already. My current issue is, how to assign the new uploaded theme to that module? On my own research in a description I figured out, that on the Components under » Phoca Gallery » a Theme shall be selected and applied to the component. However, neither in the component, nor in the module I'm able to find anywhere an option, saying: "apply to component" nor "apply to category", even I already uploaded 2 different themes.
Further, I've had read some of your discussions, and there were a question how to choose a default picture from the gallery menu module for each category. I tried to follow these steps, but there are no such parameters, like choosing a category picture. So I wonder, if I have to install any other module/plugin, in order make this tool working properly? If you need to take a closer look of what I'm talking about, you might check out the issue right here: (only the footer menu is working yet, because this site is going to be moved after finishing!): http://geldgefluester.org/index.php/en/photo-editing

Please sorry about my dumb questions, it's because I'm a completely newby on phoca, but I already like the idea of so many display possibilities.

best regards from Austria!

Ok, meanwhile I finally found out, that all the categories have to assigned to the joomla! native menu structure. So far, now at least I can see the categorie, but I found out, that the back button is driving me back to the first category, instead to the phoca menu. How can I cange that?

Honestly, I have no problem at all to publish the donaters link (Powered by Phoca Gallery), but was it really necesarry to assign the link to the same window? Is there anyway to change the assignment into "blank"? Otherwise that link would drive my visitors away from my own site and then the great idea of phoca would become useless for my needs!

Thank you Benno, I just sent out an email! How about the first part of my post? I already installed, enabled the the phoca gallery plugin as well and posted the code (phocagallery view=categories) into the respective article. Any idea, how the gallery doesn't display?
I also checked the themes, I installed, and saw an xml- file in there too. Do that needs to be assigned somehow?

BTW2. Did you creat a menu link to Phoca Gallery Component (e.g. List of Categories)?
Kind regards,

Ok, let me check;
Hmm, actually I assigned the Article to the native joomla! categories, because till yet I couldn't figure out how to assign the article to the phoca gallery menu module.
Since I just started last week with rebuilding my site, I'm using the latest joomla! version (3.3.6). Also phoca com (v4.1.2), mod's (image: v4.0.0, menu: v4.1.0, slideshow bxsklider: v4.0.4) and plg was downloaded brandnew, just by today.

Thank you for your time! I really appreciate that!

Dear User,

meanwhile, I was trying the follow: under the main menu stucture, I assigned the respective menu icons to the list of categories. Under options I tried all display and hide settings. Just some of them sowed up (and of course always the back button, wich is hiting right back to any subcategory), but never any pictures. But in the browser it shows me always the respective category! That's why in the category ID section (last option) once I tried 1-Category and just the number 1. That I again assigned an article to the respective category with its content: {phocagallery view=categories|categoryid=1} , and also {phocagallery view=categories|categoryid=1-category}. In the component under the theme section there's the message, saying: "Current Theme : orange". But the menu isn't orange!
Also the back button

Is there any step I missed so far? I'd really like to make it run, and your help would be really appreciated!

thanx again in advance!

Ok, I think so far I set up everythink the it should be! Last question of all; Is there any way to assign any language to the perspective site language (i.e; German for the German section, and spanish for the spanish section?) That would make my day :p !

Bueno, I got that too, and the image gallery is up and running, even I never managed to assign any theme to it! So I just cosumized the css and so it does its job! I gotta say, that the PHoca system is a very amazing project, but just the handouts are not well structured. Anyway, thanx to the phoca creator! Great Job, Guys (y) ! You might close this one!
