Hello;

1. Can a section & category (hope both) of Phoca Download be embeded to a Joomla article ?
2. How to set a file path from outside-of-root-directory for security ?
(i.e. my server Home Directory /home/mysite)
3. Many language files available in Joomla default format, do they be read by Joomfish ?

Please advise
Thanks

Hi,

1. such plugin is not ready yet
2. you can use some .htaccess solution or change the folder in settings. If you want to add the files outside of root, you should change the path in the code:
administrator\components\com_phocadownload\helpers\phocadownload.php (getPathSet mehtod)

3. I don't understand... Phoca Download uses standard Joomla! JText::_ method which displays translated strings (it doesn't depend on Joomfish but on Joomla! installed languages in language folders. Joomfish! is about translating content ...)

It is always delightful to have developer answer promptly.
So far, PHOCA is the best available Joomla extentions in download category.

1. EMBEDDING ISSUE
Hope Phoca can be embeded to a joomla article soon, since most of other Joomla extentions only manage
Joomla default section/category/article, not an independent ones by 3'rd parties.
In my case, there is a subscription plugin (Joomsuit), which control user's access by payment to allow an
online page-viewing.

2. JOOMFISH Compatibility
There is only PHOCA have a rich language files in dowload-extention-category (as I know), since standard
Joomla! JText::_ method is applied, it supposed to be read by Joomfish, I just ask before installation.

Thanks your advisement.

2. Basic strings in component are displayed by standard JText::_ method... Possible Joomfish integration I see e.g. if you want to translate description or text displayed before file to download... so the xml file for Joomfish should be created - Phoca Download table columns == joomfish xml items...
