BACKEND or FRONTEND - User Access to Specific Categories

Hi, as you said (in 2011) - the backend works like Joomla!- the permissions are set for the whole component with different actions (create, edit, delete, etc.). I would be happy for more "fine-tunning" in backend. But there is (partial) solution to this situation by creating user frontend access, of course (+ enabling user panel). But my gallery is based on Picasa albums stored on another server. I found it very useful. So I do not waste free space on my hosting account and I do not have big backup files. I also cooperate with my friend, who uses Picasa too. She gives me her links and I created a special category for her on my web. I would be glad to have a way how to provide access for her and following options - create categories, subcategories and link her picasa galeries. Nothing more and nothing less. She does not need to copy files onto my hosting account and I do not need to give her permissions to access the whole component in the backend. So I see two ways how to solve the problem: 1) Backend - more controls and access rules (categories, component parts) OR/AND 2) Frontend - added functionality: add Picasa (maybe Facebook too) albums (maybe + switch enable/disable uploading files). Could you help me with that by upgrading that feature? Thank you for your great component !!!

Hi,

2) added to feature request list.

1) this is in feature request list but this is really complicated: first there is no time to look at at for now and second for most of users such ACL rules are so complicated so they don't want to use it or have it implemented in the backend of gallery, so this feature is still under review :-(
