force thumbs

In the past we used another application as photo gallery (exposé). At the upgrade to joomla 1.6, we teamed up with Phoca. A great component!

Structure of folders and photos were stored in XML files. I have moved the pictures to the phocamap. The xml files are scripted into the database tables. Now I can see all the categories and for each photo an icon, but no photo. Via the download button, I can download photos.

I miss thumbs in the thumb map.

I can rename and relocate the existing thumbs, but it is a very extensive collection.

Is it possible to force the automatic creation as when uploading?

Hi,
try recreating thumbnails (back end > phoca gallery > images > select list entries and > click the recreate button.

This will only work if the database entries are correct, and the original images are in the location as specified in the database. But it seams that is the case, otherwise you wouldn't be able to download the images.
regards,
rk

Indeed, that works fine.

Unfortunately it will be a job that requires a lot of time and actions. First and foremost, I had to move the pictures, because there are too many (several thousand). I couldn't reach 'images' anymore (time out). To recreate thumbs I replace a map back on it's place and open up in the backend.

take a look at the "pagination thumbnail creation" setting, that might help with the timeouts. but it will take time to create this amount of thumbnails...
