I just got 1.6 installed and figured out how to assign users to groups, etc...
I wanted to be able to setup a user in a group and have that group only access the files of a specific category.
For those newbies out there...
I created a group called Down_Cat1. I then made an Access View for Down_Cat1 and assigned the Registered Users and Down_Cat1 group to that access list.
This way the user has to register to be able to use that group.
In Phoca, I created a new category and assigned just the Down_Cat1 to the Access list.
That will get your user all setup. What you have to remember to do...since it is not checked by default is in the group, yon the global permissions is allow the group to have Site Login rights. I couldn't figure that out for a while.
I am not a experienced Joomla user yet. So start with that.
Also I would suggest getting the Official Joomla {book}. very helpful.
And these plugins work really well. Great work Jan.
