[Solved] Phoca Plugin Only Displaying Code
Posted: 17 Jul 2011, 05:32
by UKAdam
Solution
1. Uninstall the plugins for Phoca Download
2. Download Phoca Download Plugin
here
3. Download Phoca Download Button Plugin
here
4. Install and enable Phoca Download Plugin
5. Install and enable Phoca Download Button Plugin
Original issue post:
This is a bizarre issue. I have installed the Phoca Download Component for 1.6 and the Plugin for Phoca Download 1.6 to put the code in articles to link to files, however when I insert it and view the article it is just text with the code for the file or category, not a display of the category or file. Additionally if I create a menu item linking to the items, it works fine. Any ideas of why this is happening?

I am experiencing a similar problem. Everything was working fine and today I added an article only to discover that the Phoca Plugin seems to function but it only displays the code:
{phocadownload view=file|id=6|text=Bush Fire Survival Plan|target=s}
Earlier articles with Plugin code are displaying the correct results on the same page.
I've been poking around to try to work out why this is happening, does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi, if the code is displaying, then the Plugin is not enabled or installed.

Jan, Plugin is installed AND enabled. I checked it twice before posting.

Hi, then try to check your editor if it does not change the code somehow

I'm actually having the same issue. Joomla 1.6.5. Phoca Download works fine, as does the Phoca Download Button Plugin, but plugin code shows up in the article. The Phoca Download Plugin is installed and enabled. I even turned the article editor off, so that it's plain code and the phoca plugin code is there as it should be, but when the article is displayed on the frontend, instead of the download/link, it's just the plugin code. Same thing if I look at the source code of the rendered frontend page. The code appears as it should and none of the characters are converted. I've also tried changing the plugin ordering, but that didn't change anything. Any ideas?

Hi, is the Phoca Download plugin installed and enabled (I don't mean the Phoca Download Button Plugin)?

If that's in reference to my addition, yes. Phoca Download, Download Plugin and Plugin Button are all installed and enabled.

Hi Just wanted to add that I have the exact same issue.
The Phoca Download control panel etc all appear to be working fine (2.0.1 on Joomla! 1.7)
I don't have the download button installed.
The Download plugin is installed and enabled yet the articles just show the code eg {phocadownload view=categories}
Thanks!
