Hi Jan, I have found a work around for importing Google photos by making the google photo albums public.
If I had your programming skills I might be able to automate the process so I will leave it to you.
The solution is based on the Ozio Gallery extension.

The basic steps:
Use https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/api/user/<userid> eg the userid would be phoca.gallery if the gmail address is phoca.gallery@gmail.com
This link shows on ‘mouse link hover’ whether the Google photo album is ‘public or not. When public you see both the google id and album id at the bottom of the browser otherwise you see lock=true. This also shows you your Google id at the top of the list

I have used this process for about 6 albums with no hassles. After switching the album to public it takes around 3 minutes to become visible when using the above picasaweb

It would be great if you could code this workaround into your extension.

Regards

Hi,
how this option can be used with the product phoca?
see:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39083&p=141045#p141043
you can make the album public on the link set in this post.

It seems this is possible per Google application. The problem is, it is not free, so e.g. if you use some other extension, mostly there is limit to import the images. And you can import without limit in some paid version (this is the case of using ozio)

As Phoca Gallery is free extension, for now the advice is to use the public accessible application to make the album public. When the album is public then you can import it in Phoca Gallery, just follow the steps written here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39083&p=141045#p141043
It would be great if you could code this workaround into your extension.
It works on external Google application and unfortunately applying it to Phoca Gallery will mean that Phoca Gallery will be not free and as by other extensions, such feature will be limited and paid :-( So, as I want to have Phoca Gallery free, the option for now (maybe until rules will be change again) is to make the albums public per external application.

Thanks Jan you have given a very good explanation and a simpler solution over that which I used.

Hi All I just got a google account to work and thought I would share what I had to do as I couldn't find the answer myself.
1. Create a new Album in Google Photo
2. Go to http://www.svenbluege.de/picasa/v1.1/
3. Click the "Sign In" button then agree to grant access to your Google account (access includes: View your email address; View your basic profile info; Manage your photos and videos)
You can later cancel the authorization by going to https://security.google.com/settings/se ... ermissions?
When sign in to Event Gallery, you'll see a table listing all your albums.
4.The "Rights" column shows the visibility rights of your albums (Make this Public)
Protected means "Only you" (Only visible to you) and can also mean "Limited" (Shared via link on Google Photos)
Private means "Limited, anyone with the link" (Visible to anyone with the link)
Public means "Public" (Visible to anyone)
In the "Operations" column, to change visibility click either "Make Private," "Make Protected" or "Make Public"
5 Copy the User ID, Album ID into Phoca.

I hope this helps.

Hi, do the previous guides (making public album) not work?

I don't have any problems to display the images on the site  https://www.phoca.cz/phocacart

Hi, yes, new albums cannot be done public in Google Photos, but there are ways to do, just try to search this topic for different guides.
