Hi, I am not sure If I can make better solution than Sam Moffat created

For now I by myself needs a lot of help :-( so really cannot say I can find time for now to do this feature, anyway added to the feature request list. But really no idea when I will find time to look at it :-(

Hi Jan

it's an old thread, I know, but never the less still an issue.
Got guestbook spammers from Ukraine filling up my guestbook.
Blocked them manually now in iptables.

So I got an idea:
instead of letting phoca guestbook do the banning work, write a log entry in central apache log, where it can be picked up by fail2ban for example.
There is a plugin already doing this for unsuccessul login attempts: plg_system_fail2ban.zip.

What say?

Thanks

Lukas
