I've recently migrated my old Phoca Gallery on Joomla 1.5.x to Joomla 2.5.1 using the most recent Phoca Gallery Component. I've followed the instruction presented by Jan elsewhere (with regard to database changes)
After migration, the Gallery itself seems to work fine, in that the thumbnails display and they properly link to a larger version of image. However...
If I attempt to recreate a thumbnail... it will not do so and a previously working item will now show a 'no_image.gif' placeholder and the link to the larger image no longer works... the record still points to the same place and the original images are still there. It seems as if nothing has changed, it just no longer works.
If I upload an image I receive an "Error While Saving Item" message. It creates a new record in the DB, but there willl be a 'no_image.gif' placeholder and the link does not work. The original image has been uploaded though into the proper directory though.
I'm currently testing this on a local server, a WAMP setup on Windows, with PHP 5.3.9, and MySQL 5.0.51a.
Are there any PHP extensions I might be overlooking? Any other help would be appreciated.

Re: Problem After Migration
Hi, this should not have any dependency to php extension
if you have updated the database and then uploaded images inlcude thumbnails to new server, Phoca should not do new thumnbails or new items in database

Re: Problem After Migration
Yes. In fact, if I enable thumbnail generation, the manager tries to recreate thumbnails for everything, even though there are already visible thumbnails in the Images listing (on the backend).
So somehow, somewhere, something is indicating to the manager (?) that there is no thumbnail even though the records themselves are clearly already pointed to the right thumbnail & original.

Re: Problem After Migration
I think I have it solved.
I gave up trying to upgrade the older version. Backed up the old tables, started with a Fresh install of Phoca, made a few sample entries, and then altered my old SQL backup so it matched up better with the new SQL. Took a few reinstalls but it finally worked correctly.
Cheers.
