Unable to add new photos

Hello guys,
After several months I need to add new photos. Around 40 of them. I tried using mass adding and adding single photo but neither of them worked. When I add a photo, new item appears but when I click on that photo to enlarge it, I get "An error occurred" msg instead of photo.

thank you for reply.

I am using latest Joomla! 3.6.5 and Phoca Gallery 4.3.4. (but updated yesterday from 4.2.2 in hope that it will fix it).

After investigating a bit more where the problem is. I found out a bit more. Every picture is "broken" (there is no thumbnail while browsing photos to add). And after adding a photo (tried different photos, different folders, different categories) it is still broken and unable to look at it.

And displayed error is actually "An error has occurred". I am unable to replicate the error today but it appeared in the preview box: http://imgur.com/YYH7ZCh- Today it is just indefinitely loading.

Another thing I noticed today while trying to replicate that error by adding new photo is that I am unable to open most folders while looking for photo name to add.

Hi,

hmm, difficult to know concerning the error-response. Just some ideas to check e.g. via your hosting-provider resp. System/Server configuration:

- GD library on your server
- memory_limit
- max-execution time
- permissions/owner
- error report
- active debug mode
- PHP version
- upload limitations
ec.

Sure thing. Here is the LIVE url: http://hkbezuchov.me.cz/index.php/galerie. Every category except the topmost one is at least few months old. The topmost one (2017 Vysoké Tatry) is the one I tried adding yesterday and inside 3 photos that are broken.

Hi, is the "thumbnail creation" parameter enabled in Options?

Hey,
Going through the settings, I found out that it was actually set to No. So I switched it on and went "Pictures" and got error: "Error - Unable to create a thumbnail for one or more images. This is probably due to lack of system resources (server may not have enough memory or the image for processing is too large)"

Hi, yes, maybe you get more information in errorLog.

in addition check:
- PHP Memory Limit
- PHP Upload Max File Size
- PHP Post Max File Size
- CoalaWeb Traffic!

and also PHP Version. As you are using an old one: 5.4.45. Should be: 7.x, at least: 5.6.13

I am kind of clueless as what is happening. Tried to delete all the thumbnails and phoca said it is generating new ones for already added photos that worked flawlessly so I thought, hey, maybe it is going to work now.

But when I click on new -> choose file name -> browser window pops up. So far so good but when I navigate to folder I moved photos I need to add, I get the error from above again. Error: http://imgur.com/E6SWBqW

Then I tried to navigate to older folders with old photos but it won't even let me open it in that pop up window.
