Scrap a Day, November 29th
Hey Cherries. We all had a nice time together yesterday. I went to bed very late so I am not quiet ready to get out of this cozy bed just yet. But when I do it will be all about the Black Friday sales. Lol.

Have a great Black Friday Cherries. Hope you all score lots of great sales!

Re: Scrap a Day, November 29th
Good morning Barb and Happy Black Friday!

Well, we survived Thanksgiving yesterday. Woo-weeeee! Took tons of pics and posted them on FB. Anton wanted to join his brothers at the kiddie table so no high chair needed! First time we didn't have a nephew in a high chair in 6 years! Anton learned a new word too! Pie! He was headed to the dining room, saying "eat" and then he heard the word pie and then started saying "eat pie". It was the sooo cute!

Sent everyone home with tons of leftovers. DH and I had the kitchen cleaned and things put away and we were relaxing by 7pm. Watched some TV, had some wine. Went to bed and up early with the furbabies. I fed them, unloaded the dishwasher and we ate breakfast. Showered and now I'm in the living room with my laptop. Bingeing whatever is on our DVR and shopping the BF sale here, then I'll move onto PetCo for the BOGO sales on toys/treats.

Hope everyone has a great day!

My DD and crew were here for Thanksgiving. A good time was had by all and all the yummy food was great. I swear Nic keeps getting taller. He is well over 6 feet. And has 2 hollow legs- 2 pieces of pie for that guy! Some of us played yatzee after and they headed home around 8:30 and I crashed a little after 9. Leftovers for today.

The big girls and I are off to see Wicked later this afternoon. Should be fun. Trying to finish up my shopping. Not that many stores here in GF, do most of it is on line for me.

Happy Black Friday. Hope you get lots of shopping done!

We had a great day of feasting and laughing yesterday.  So...much...food!  Needless to say, there were care packages sent home with everyone.  All of the sweets gone too except one piece of pecan pie I saved for myself.  Today is my day out with DGD to the American Music Theatre Christmas Show...Joy to the World.  This is our 3rd year going together after a break in 2021 because of COVID.  Something I did with my mom for years and now DGD and I do it and share memories of her.  I am off to pick her up and head to lunch before the show.

Re: Scrap a Day, November 29th
Well phew. Yesterday cleaned and cooked and had great time with family and after they ALL left, cleaned again so got up to nothing to do this morning!  Like  Vicki , I only kept one piece of pie which I ate after cleaning kitchen and putting everything away last night. Leftover turkey for supper tonight.

spent an hour this morning on chat with DD figuring out Christmas gifts- who wants or need what.  What has already been ordered - ordering more etc.  typical Black Friday!  I’m sure making a lot of points on my bank card on Amazon hahahaha!
Have a fabulous Friday and in the words of that famous Vulcan, “Live long and prosper”

Nic is obviously a teenage boy!!! Lolol! They will eat you out of house and home and still be hungry! Lol! When Steve’s 3 sons were teenagers I’d go to the store and buy a week’s worth of groceries, come home, put them away and go change clothes and come back out to find almost everything GONE! You just can’t feed them enough! Hahaha! But it’s fun to see them growing up! The oldest will be 50 this coming July!!!

Re: Scrap a Day, November 29th
I had a rough start to my day yesterday! I was going to make Grandmom’s apple pie but didn’t have the right apples. (The cheapest apples up here are $2.29 a pound on sale! But they don’t carry many varieties.) So I had a few that I’d bought late last week and a few that Steve bought on Wednesday. First one I peeled was one from last week. It looked and felt fine but when I saw the fruit it was all brown and mushy. Second and third ones weren’t so mushy but just as brown and I knew I couldn’t take a pie made with them so had to come up with a different plan.

I have a REALLY good brownie recipe so I found it and I had everything but the 2nd cup of chocolate chips. Then I had to find a pan to cook them in because my glass pan was dirty. The one I found was metal so I knocked 10 minutes off the cooking time. I stepped away for a minute and raced back because I could smell them burning. Thankfully it was just the corners and edges so I was able to salvage most of them. But they weren’t as good as they usually are.

Meanwhile I decided to go ahead and cook the pie since I had most of the apples for it anyway, the crusts were ready and I didn’t want to waste it. Worst pie I’ve ever made!!! Lolol! I didn’t put sugar in it because the apples tasted sweet enough. Would have been fine if all the apples were good! But then I was in a hurry to get ready to go to the potluck and I didn’t bake it long enough. It looked great and for a second I thought about taking it anyway. SOOOO glad I didn’t! The good apples were barely cooked and are crunchy. Taste good though! The others are mushy and only taste like a hint of cinnamon. So Steve and I have been nibbling at it. Lol!!! I was very selfish and kept the cherry pie makings for myself. Lol! I’ll make it along with the rest of my dinner tomorrow.

The potluck was really hood. Great food and got to see neighbors we don’t get to see very much. We got home about 6:30 and by 7:30 I had completely passed out on the couch!!! Woke up about 9:30 and went to bed. Totally crashed again! I did wake up later long enough to take advantage of the BF sale! And went back to sleep and didn’t get up till 8:30 this morning! I think I was tired! Lolol!

So now everything will be quiet for awhile. I’ll cook our dinner tomorrow. We will definitely have leftovers because the guys didn’t come because of the ferry issues. So many people got stuck!!! One of our neighbors had left their teenage kids home alone for what was supposed to be one night they wound up flying home ($400 for the 2 of them to fly) and left their car there. So today they have to go back and get the car and put it on the ferry to get it home! The tickets for no seniors is about $70 each way! So an extra $500 for them to be home with their sons for thanksgiving! Crazy! Anyway instead of just having 2 stepsons, granddaughter and one grandson we’re going to have the whole family together sometime before the end of December and make it combined Thanksgiving and Christmas. I LIVE that idea and we might have to make that the tradition!!! :)

Im going to take it easy today. Gotta do some cleaning and laundry but I can stretch that through the weekend. And I have a layout sort of planned on my desk I want to do. Need to write and print our Christmas letter, get Steve to sign the cards, prepare the envelopes, stuff and stamp them so they can go out when we go to town on Thursday. I’m so happy that I’ve got them so close to being ready so early!!! I’m usually REALLY late! Lol!

Hope you’re all enjoying your Black Friday!!
