so i ran into the walmart pharmacy to pick up one of DH's prescriptions and they had both register spots open but were using only one, then after that person --spraying the lil pay/sign screens and doing the next person in line on the other register and then spraying that one when done and going back to the other one--again and again  HMMMM  person working said that we have a bit of a COVID outbreak so they are being extra careful.. i dont remember them being that careful even during the pandemic...LOL
i then was starting to go thru self check out for my one non pharmacy lil item and the gal ran up and sprayed everything before i used it......
 then youngest DD called on her break at work (supermarket) to say they had put the  POS button cover rubber thingies back on and were disifecting between ppl paying

no no no!  we get soooooooo many travelers/truckers thru here    DD better not bring germs home :P

Yuk!  I heard that the summer COVID numbers were on the rise.  Thankfully, we have avoided it and hope to continue that trend!

so glad i'm not working retail anymore!  all that disinfecting was a huge PITA and of course on top of it grouchy customers who can't wait 2 seconds for you to just do your job.

we've had 2 cases on the board just in the past week so that's pretty scary!

Yeah, they did rise last summer, but this summer is much worse.  I remember last summer in July and August the number of Ohio cases was under or around 1,000.  Today they are just under 6,000.  Oh, and my County is reporting high flu cases ALREADY!  I'm so sick of this crap.   

At least on a good note, whatever strain my Mom has is causing very mild symptoms...itchy throat, dry cough.  That's it.  Not even as bad as a general cold.  But, I am sick of it, too!  I feel like the sooner people realize it isn't going away, the sooner we can all take the precautions we need to take, build up our immune systems, and it will not be as much of a problem.  But that's just me!

I agree, Pally!  I was just really, really hoping that it had found it's "pattern" and would be virtually non-existent in the Summer, and then peak in the Fall and Winter.  Sigh. 

And you're right . . . if there is a silver lining it's that the current variants seem to be very mild.  That's a positive for sure.

I’m sorry you have had such a time of it, Flora.  They also said the strain going around was highly transmissible, so it is hard to stop.

that is my hope also BUT i found out last night that that oldest DD's hubby (who has been in san diego for military stuff) was close hand exposed--he comes home today...i think im going to avoid their house and sadly limit huggy kissy stuff with the grandsons for alil bit....last thing i need is for it to start cycliing thru our fam...LOL

Oh no, this is not cool, guys! Be safe and break out the sanitizers! I haven't heard anything in NYC so I googled it and apparently in May we went from "low" to "medium" alert for Covid? Whatever that means. Meanwhile I work interacting with thousands of people a day...........ackkkkkkkk............When I do the 50/50 raffle I have Lysol wipes in my kiosk and have just mindlessly been wiping everything down (the counter and the device). Sheesh. I had covid 1x and it knocked me out. DH and DD had it and were very business as usual. It depends on the person too I guess.

Then in the middle of all this chaos, the Presidential rally started transporting into the hospital, by ambulances, heat victims!!

I can't recall a worse summer health wise. Ever.

When we were at the eye doctor's yesterday, the waiting room started to fill up (and it's not a large room). It's a older building without much ventilation. It's sounds like even though you are up to date on all the vaccines, it doesn't matter. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh, my goodness, Sher!  I hope you are turning the corner and getting better. This has been such a hot summer, which I don't think helps the air quality at all.  Then, to have covid on top of it.  Sending hugs!

That's not my reality. I tested positive more than a week ago and still have most symptoms. At one point I was so dehydrated I couldn't urinate. Then the brain scans started at the hospitals as I had sound and sight hallucinations. Thankful not too many this time. All my tests have been negative except for the COVID.
