California has been greatly enriched by the heritage and culture of our dear neighbor, Mexico. This day commemorates the Mexican army prevailing against the French, at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Local festivities include great food and drink, dancing, Mariachi music, parades, fireworks and generous amounts of fun and celebration. So, I thought I would bring a little Cinco de Mayo spirit to NSD!
This advance teaser is to prepare you for one of my challenges. Drawing inspiration from a party drink, I’d like you to select and post your choices on this thread. When my challenge goes live at 5 pm EST on 05/05/23, you will read the additional instructions for how to use your selections on your layout, card, mini-album, tag, junk journal, or other craft project.
This thread will close at the end of NSD at midnight EST on 05/07/23. You will have until Monday, 05/15/2023 at midnight EST to post your completed entry. All entries will be entered into a random drawing for the challenge prize.
The winner will receive the Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush Mini Album kit generously provided by American Crafts.
My Cinco de Mayo party drink is the MARGARITA. I understand that some Cherries do not drink alcoholic beverages in real life. This challenge is not a drinking game, but just using the margarita as an inspiration point to develop a fun challenge. So please, feel free to jump in and no one will judge!
This versatile and tasty drink generally comes on the rocks or blended. If you are really feeling the party, tequila shots boost the buzz!
- Classic on the rocks
- Smooth blended
- A straight shot
The third and final choice is if you want the rim of your glass decorated with salt, sugar, or leave it bare (not recommended for best flavor).
My personal choices are: blended strawberry with salt. Can’t wait to read your choices and looking forward to seeing what you create with the 2nd half of this challenge during NSD!
