My dad got THE call last night. My grandfather passed away from complications of yet another infection at 2:10pm Cali time. He originally went in for Knee Surgery back in September and since then, has so many complications. In/out of hospital. Didn't want to eat. Didn't want to take meds. Didn't do well at Rehab facility to learn how to walk again. 5 wks ago, he was taken to the hospital again, where his kidneys were failing and he had sepsis. He also experienced some heart rate problems. That seemed to get better, then he had a UTI and very low blood pressure and clostridium difficile infection. Then he had a heart attack. Then, on Dec 1st, he was rushed back to ICU where he had the c diff infection again with kidneys failing. We have been unfortunetly, preparing ourselves for the worse news. He would have been 84 years old in one month. But this was all just too much for his body to handle.
He will be flown from California back to Texas, as he will be buried next to my grandmother here in Corpus Christi, whom we lost 7 years ago.
