So I was leaving some love in the gallery and I just noticed a pattern. I apparently look really closely at embellishments on layouts as that seems to be the first thing that draws my eye to it. What is the first thing you notice when looking at a layout? Is it the pictures...the embellishments? Am I the only one that even notices I have an embellishment hang up? LOL (That would explain my hoarding tendencies, wouldn't it?)
I think I'm first drawn by the colors, then the photos in the LO's themselves.

For me it's always colors!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
I am usually drawn to the overall design of a layout. Most of my saved favorites are because of the design and when I get "stuck", I look there for inspiration.
I'm a huge embellie lover so that's what my eye catches first! Those little accent details.
I'm drawn to the clarity of the layout first. Is it symmetrical, a symmetrical, up and down and etc. Then I look at all.
I look mainly at the color first.
It's amazing, however, that I don't even notice the picture(s) on some layouts. There is so much other "stuff" on the layout that the picture doesn't seem important anymore. I can be guilty of that too, but I try to keep the photos my primary focus.

I was thinking about this earlier today. I notice the colors of Lo and the photo as well as I am drawn to the titles. With being blind I may not as much of the fine detail as others like the misting etc.

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

Color is always the first thing that catches my eye.
Mildred - Mom to 2 girls and a husband (I tell people that I am a single mom of 3. Ages 59, 37 and 31) lol. And a proud Grandma to Orahn (7) Sawyer (5) and Mazie (3).
Embellishments I would have to say, and anything floral will catch me immediately.
Usually it's the composition... the way things are placed on a page.

If I see the photo as the focal point first then the artist has drawn me in. Then design.....and because like you I am an embellishment fanatic I then look at the embellishments!
I EMBELLISHMENTS!
And no you are not alone!

colors. and if the layout has more embellies than pix. I am a picture focus kind of scrapper and find I seldom look at stuff with one little picture and the rest is about what is on there.
But primarily colors. TMI sorry

The paper. I always notice that first on a layout. I like looking out for new collections or paper that I have been looking at but haven't bought yet.
hmmmmmmm I think it is design, embellies, colors...... for me!
