When do you begin to think about or plan Christmas?
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
Well, I tend to shop all year . . . if I find something. But, as far as actual planning, the wheels are in motion the day after Halloween!

My daughter has my things to use at her house. We buy very little each year as it is the older ones that remind us of times gone by. We made Dept 56 scenes in several places. A Russian looking theme using the ornies and glass block and glass trees. Very colorful.
We have a snowman scene on the floor by the TV armoire. We literally cover the tops of most things. She gives several parties. I don't have much to do except tell her where to put something in the display. You know, an inch to the left or right. We do the main bathroom, den, dining room, kitchen in few places.
As most of us do, we have ornaments dating back to when she was in kindergarten. There are so many that when she puts them out, it brings back memories of things I had forgotten.
What was the question. Oh, yah, we either put it up the week before Thanksgiving or Thankgiving weekend.

November...the kids have almost decided what they would like by then and the sales start. But then sometimes I put it off until the end of Nov into Dec...even at 14 & 15 the kids have to write a letter to Santa; if I don't have your letter to mail, I'm not shopping. Oh, and there's GiGis birthday Dec 10th - so that really throws a curve ball into the whole she-bang.

Usually August, but do shop year round if I see something that's perfect for someone. This year I'm planning a little earlier since my brother and his wife will be in England for Christmas I'm having a family party the middle of November for all of us to celebrate Christmas.
shopping wise...I might start as early as Feb or March. Homemade gifts..I start in August or September. But real plans? December 1st!

I start shopping anytime I see something but I don't decorate until after thanksgiving.
I begin to think about it around 4th of July but do not do any planning or shopping until after the last kid's birthday end of September. One thing at a time. lol

Thinking about all the time anyway, but seldom do anything about it. I give all the older kids $$ gift cards but buy the little kids presents through out the year as they come on sale. Now, ds#3 and his wife go shopping the after Christmas sales the day after Christmas for next year! They are so organized, they even know what they are buying for gifts next year!

Depends on the year. I use to start really early. If I found something perfect for someone I would buy it. And with having to ship stuff If I knew family was coming in town I would plan ahead and send the box of wrapped gifts back with them. That was before I was married. Now It just depends on if / when we have the money. It has been on my mind this year already but, Well I have been thinking about it. That is as far as I have gotten.

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

I think about it all year from time to time. Usually when I see or think of something gift wise.

December 26th - the day after the holiday. Christmas is a year round event for me.
I usually pick up some things at the after Christmas Sale for next year, but really start shopping on Black Friday and than it's Christmas from then on!!!
I usually start my cards in the summer. I make about 50 and each is different so they take a long time. If i have any big homemade Christmas presents i start then then too. I shop starting about Halloween and decorate the first weekend of December.
between August and September

Usually around October, but I will pick up something sooner if I see it. That's for the shopping. Decorating is after Thanksgiving, usually not until the first weekend in December. And lately later.
