Good Morning! Nov 28, 2013
Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! It is going to be a wonderful and happy day with family and friends. Lots of good food and joy to share. I can't wait! When I get off work, I will go home, put the turkey in the roaster to cook, then take a shower, wash my hair and go to bed until noon. Up then to finish the cooking and have dinner at four PM. By the time eight comes, I will be ready to go back to bed!

What are your plans for this blessing of a day? I pray that your day will be blessed!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone :)

I have a family that works in the medical field so we all work Thanksgiving day in order to have Christmas day off. I work today until about 3 pm and then DD and I are going to the movies with our dear friends (something we've done now for 10 years). We celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday every year with my parents and my sister (who works today) and her family (it's just easier for everyone to get together on Friday travel wise and work wise). Then Friday afternoon we all go chop down our Christmas trees and go home to start decorating. My son works Thanksgiving also so his wife and kids will go to her family's today and we'll get together on Saturday for our traditional "Thanksgiving" of seafood chowder and lobster. (What can I say, I live in Maine!)

It all sounds so practical and charming to me.

Happy Thanksgiving! Just love this time of year :) I'm up buying Black Friday deals online LOL. My dh, parents & I will eat probably around noon. Totally nontraditional this year. We have gone to Furr's for several years since usually just the four of us. We may go see his parents later, but they have been sick. Then I'm dragging him to Michael's & Office depot for Black Friday sales hehehehe

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends! :)

We had our Thanksgiving get together on Sunday and last night went to MIL's for an extended family dinner. Today I get 3 more of the grandkids since their Momma is going Black Friday shopping. Keeping them til Saturday. Will be a full house as I already have 2 of the grandkids since their Momma is working 12 hr. shifts. Will be a fun but busy time. :inlove:

Have a good day, everyone! :winkb:

Happy Thanksgiving. We are all going to my ex-husband's house for Thanksgiving today. Sine I don't need to cook and I didn't sleep well last night, I'm going to try to take a little nap.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

As I mentioned in another post, my hubby has today (and tomorrow) off since he works for an American company but most people here in Vancouver have to work - so we're going to make the most of having a regular weekday to do whatever we want! We're going out for lunch and we'll browse around some of the shops that are usually quite busy on the weekends. Then tonight we are going to a huge craft show called Make It! Vancouver and I am REALLY looking forward to that! It's gonna be a great day :-D

I'm a nurse, and I have to work tonight at 7pm, so I totally understand changing schedules to accommodate work needs. My brother and his wife usually host our big Thanksgiving dinner, but it's almost 3 hours away, and they like to have dinner about 3. By the time she serves dinner, I'd have to leave to get home again and go to work! And that makes for a really long day, so we're staying home this year. My sister in law refuses to give up hosting and let us host it once in awhile, because she also hosts her own family. So it's just us, and we will be having food coming out of our ears! DH is thrilled to be cooking a big meal, and we're having turkey and ham and loads of side dishes. We have 5 pies....and only 7 people eating! lol He invited his brother, but he's on vacation in Florida with their other sister. HIs son and his wife are in Korea for both Thanksgiving and Christmas (she is from Korea), so it's us! But we'll have lots of food and lots of fun and laughter, and that is what matters!

We will host my family Christmas, and over the years we've taken to getting together on a day other than Christmas. It makes it much easier to get everyone together. Right now, we're thinking it'll be the Saturday after Christmas, so I'm looking forward to that too!

The sad thing is that my kids' dad hasn't seen them since Father's Day, and hasn't even called them since July. I had them call him on his birthday in October, but there hasn't been any other kind of contact. He just makes no effort for the kids....so sad. But when he calls to want to take them for Christmas, he can take them, but it will work around MY plans. I figure to have the right to have them on Christmas Day itself, you have to actually make the effort a little more regularly. They aren't trophies to be paraded around on a holiday and ignored the rest of the year!

Good Afternoon Everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Everyone's plans all sound great! I'm hoping to pick up Benji from the animal hospital today. Then, my husband, daughter and ex-husband and I are all going to my husband's cousin's house for dinner. I did the appetizer so I have to be prompt and I'm stressing a bit since the hospital won't commit to a time yet for Benji's release. But I'm sure it will all work out one way or another.

good Thanksgiving afternoon. Quiet here just now. House clean, pies cooked and cooling, turkey in the oven , table set etc. so time to make that Black Friday order. I have spent the last 30 minutes taking stuff out and putting it back in my basket. lol One of my son's is a police officer and the other a security guard and one worked a very early shift and the other is working a very late shift. lol So both here by 6pm for dinner. Football on the TV just now and soon start the pellet stove as it is already cooling down.

Hope all y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day/dinner etc. Stay warm and safe.

I've just said my "goodnights" and "byes" to my family. We had a wonderful dinner, lots of laughter and good company. My mother's birthday is today as well, so my sister got here early to put up some decorations along with my Thanksgiving to surprise her. She loved it! My house is quiet now, except for the dishwasher going and I"m pretty tired. Ds and Dh just went to bed, it's only me to enjoy my computer time peacefully and of course with a contented stomach. ;)

Just finished up the last slice of pecan pie! DH and I and our 3 kids went to his grown daughter's house. Had lunch with her family--her DH and two kids.

They always go spend the night in the Lewisville or Grapevine, Texas area to shop, and his sister usually watches the kids, but she was busy, so I volunteered to let them spend the night here. We made some salt dough ornaments, and they are cooled and need to be painted. But the kids are playing in the bedroom, and I don't want to bring them out while they are happy, lol. I'll wait until someone is bored or "upset" and use the ornaments as a diversion. Just thinking now I'd better go check on them . . .
