Mine's a scotch tape kind. I didn't have to do anything to it. I believe my washi tape is Queen & Co.
Mine was a scotch brand too but the washi tape wasn't Queen & co.!!!! (Mystery solved!)

It works great!
Great idea! I used a photo box and some pvc pipe and a saw blade to make a dispenser. I have also seen that people have used empty aluminum foil containers.
Oh and ladies home journal this month used washi tape on easter eggs!
