I'm sad.
Sad for my beautiful DD that she had to sit through the funeral of a dear friend yeaterday

Sad that so many teamates and young people lost a friend

Sad for my DH who coached Shelby in the last soccer game she will ever play

Sad for the world who lost a vibrant, fun-loving teen who wanted to grow up to work with children overseas.

But mostly I am sad for Shelby's mother who had to say goodbye to her 15 year old daughter yesterday.



PLease keep all in your thoughts and prayers.

I so understand how you and your daughter feel. I lost my best (and really only) friend when I was 5, but I can remember almost every detail of that day, and it's stuck with me my whole life (I cried when you first posted the news because it brought back those memories). When I graduated high school it was so hard to think of all the things she, and we missed out on, and what life could've been like. It's just not fair at all, and there's nothing that can make it better, but time dulls the pain, so I hope that you guys can start to smile again soon.
