Re: sons passed away
I am so sorry, the pain of losing a child would be unimaginable to me. I am very sorry. Please try a grief support group, please. They can help so much, just to have others to share the pain with. And, people, please, NO texting while driving-- I see it all the time and it makes me sick- you can't do both and the driving is the most important. And there's no text or phone call that can't wait.

I'm so sorry and words are so hallow at a time like this. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: sons passed away
My heart is aching for you this morning. I lifted you up in prayer and asked God to give you some comfort. I'm so sorry for your loss.

13 years ago, my step-brother lost his son at the age of 6 to spinal meningitis. They thought he had the flu and within 48hrs he was gone. He and my son were 4 months apart and good buddies. When he passed, it helped to talk about him and some of the cute things he did or said.

Would you like to tell us about your son?

((((HUGS)))) Labecca. I cannot fathom what it is like to lose a son. I am lifting you in prayer as you go through this - each anniversary of his death will be tough for a long time.

Our close friend Marv died 3 mo. ago today - and I do have pages of him in my gallery. I have lots more to do. Our friend Marv was older, like a dad to me - one never plans to outlive their children, however, and again...my heart goes out to you.

We knew Marv was dying and creating pages of him was my therapy through his last 6 mo. of cancer. I have more pictures to scrap, memories to preserve - but have not been able to do so since he died. It is going to take time, yet I do not want to wait too long and risk forgetting the little things. I have been keeping notes as we reminisce and I might suggest that. Journaling was a huge help to me. You can be angry at God and whatever took him away from you, too. God can handle it and frankly, it just helps to write all those feelings out - or at least it did me.

This morning I met with Marv's wife and we picked out a spot to plant a tree in his memory. A living memorial seems very fitting - the tree is a hybrid between a red and silver maple, and is called a Celebration tree - it will be a living remembrance of his life that we celebrate. If you can plant a tree or bush in your yard, or a park, or perhaps on school grounds that he attended - his love will still be branching out and may offer you some comfort.

Life is about second chances. There would be no hope if God didn't give us another.

Re: sons passed away
I love Rita's idea of the memorial tree. We used to go to a swim club (it was family owned, not my family, but someones) and the brother died at the swim club along this sand path (he had an anurism (sp?) and we planted a tree in his memory. That was 15 yrs ago and that tree is the centerpiece of the landscape and we think of Joe, shading all the kids.

I can't imagine your pain. I am crying here at work. Would you like to tell us about your son? You can answer these questions if you want to share, and if not, we COMPLETELY understand that you can't talk about him yet...... here goes:

1.) How old was your son?

2.) was he a quiet baby or a trouble maker?

3.) did he drive? what kind of car?

4.) what was his favorite sport?

5.) what did he like to do the most, in his free time?

6.) was he a good student?

7.) Was he the kid that cracked you up, or kept you frustrated?

8.) what kind of clothes did he like to wear?

9.) what's your favorite funny memory of him?

10.) What's your fav sweet memory of him?

I'm not trying to be nosey, just wanting to hear a little about your son (if you want to share)! I will pray for you, not only for your son, but for your Crohns. My bff has it and I see how she suffers from it, plus the multiple surgeries. BIG GIANT HUGS TO YOU!!!!!
