Hi, gals ...


A friend of mine needs to make some flash cards for her son's therapy & is looking for some inexpenisive digi tools. She would like to use some "real" pictures - to help him communicate. What would you recomend? Are there any free goodies that she could use on a trial basis?

I think your title and question are two different things. Is she looking for software to make her own cards or is she looking for photos that she can alter into cards?

Well, there's always a trial subscription of Photo Shop Elements for free...and I'll bet there's a specific kit she could buy for flash cards...and I'll also bet if you look in Amy Teets shoppe there are some nifty printable flashcards for shapes and colors!!

GIMP is free and there are tutorials on youtube for free. I can't vouch for them yet since I amstill trying to learn, but it is supposed to be pretty similar to PSE

In our ACOT digi shop, there are lots of "brag" book page kits where a picture can be popped in.
It says they are 4x6 inches.

I wish I could help your friend, but I'm not familiar enough with digital software.

If all she's looking to do is make the cards and not dabble in digi, then she could always just use MS Word. Import a photo, resize to the flash cards size & add a few words to it then print. Otherwise, I do recommend Photoshop Elements & finding a card template online.

I made a match up game for my dd with cardstock and some "real picture" diecuts I got a JoAnns in the scrapbook section. There were a ton in the package. So if she doesn't want to try the digi stuff, she could always check that out.
