I don't have a style and I have been scrapping since 1997. One thing I love about ACOT is the challenges, they inspire me to think outside the box and create something that I would not normally do.
I think it is perfectly fine not to have a specific style.
I don't do a lot of lumpy layouts, so maybe that is part of my style.

I've actually gotten so annoyed with doing layouts lately that I've moved on to other things. (mini books and boxes mostly) It's fun, and definitely gives me new ideas.

You know what? I think it's happening to me right now. That is one of the reasons I have not been posting a lot of LO's recently because I feel as though it's a good thing but that I am not really a butterfly yet- if that makes any sense at all I have not come out of the cocoon I guess. But it feels kind of nice. I feel like I always had this is me and some times I could see it, other people could see it, but I lacked the patience and confidence in myself to do go work and as I have slowly gained those two things my whole scrappy world has starting changing!
Find my books here. See the mom (crafting, cooking, organizing, and homeschooling) side of me here. {Under construction}
Somehow people seem to recognise my work but I really would like to think that I change from LO to LO. I use different colors and styles although I do have a favorite bold, graphic.
I do prefer tons of color...bright, vibrant colors. I tend to see most people using muted tones lately. The layouts just don't seem as happy to me without blinding color!
Have a great day/evening!

I don't know that I have a style; I just have things that I like to do.
On second thought, I suppose that would be my style. I didn't get completely comfortable with how I designed my layouts for about a year or two. All of a sudden after that, I was more confident about the choices that I was making in my layouts and it was easier for me to decide how and what new ideas to incorporate into the layouts that I was creating where before that I was just befuddled and overwhelmed. I guess that would have been when I figured out what my style was and how to make it work.

I still don't have a specific "style" either. There are way to many different styles here at acot to try, I don't think I'll ever stick to just one. The only thing I do consistantly is mat mt pics. I just don't seem to like a non mated picture for some reason. I have gone without but mostly use them.

I have gone through the same thing....wanting to find my style and it got frustrating for me. I would like to say, it has only happened once but it hasn't. I just think it is something we all go through at time. I have been scrapping for about 7 years and I honestly go through phases, I guess depending on the products and photos I am using.
My advice to you hon, is don't get upset or worried that you don't have a style. There is not a right and wrong with scrapping...we are all doing it to preserve our memories...so go what "feels" right to you at the time and try to enjoy what you are doing....preserving your loved ones memories!!! I'm pretty eclectic, too. I know what I want my LOs to look like, but they don't always turn out that way.

Thanks, that's really good advice. I try to make them beautiful for my daughter. If nothing else she is already showing interest in scrapbooking because she watches me. It's really cute!suslvgeo wrote:I have gone through the same thing....wanting to find my style and it got frustrating for me. I would like to say, it has only happened once but it hasn't. Same here! And I like all my pages to look different.Laura Fiore wrote:Still evolving here! I've been scrapping for ten years and while I do have certain elements that I fall back on a lot, I love to try different ways of doing things. Thank goodness, because otherwise my albums would be REALLY boring to look back at!

I've decided to call my style adventure seeking. I try out new things all the time and don't know that I have a style
I do not think that I have an overall style. I have done themed albums before in which I kept a certain style in that album, but that style does not flow to my other work. I like variety and trying new things.
I'm actually one that is happy not to have a set style. There is no one thing I have to do. I call my self tryscraptual. I will try anything at least once. I do digital, hybrid, paper and even altered stuff. I just stick to what I like. Sometimes I go threw phases where it seems I may have found my one style but it always changes.
I'm supposed to have my own style? I don't have a particular style and like some others have said, I don't want one. I'm quirky. I like to be different and unpredictable.
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
I don't have a particular style. When I do get to scrap, I just try to get as many LOs dibe as soon as possible.
I do like trying new things and don't want my LOs to all look alike

I have been scrapbooking for over 12 years and I guess I can say I have a style, not sure it's my own.

I've been scrapping for about 5 years now. I wouldn't say that my style has evolved, but my skills sure have! I have definite habits that are apparent, especially in my digital scrapping. One photo, offset to lower-right, lots of layers, embellishments behind and on top of frame. It's almost formulaic for me but I just seem to do it every time, even when I try NOT TO! I envy those girls who can use so much white space! I also can't scrap worth a crap with circles. I think that's one reason I love the challenges here so much--the make me try different things sometimes. My advice is just to scrap and don't even think about it. It could be that your style is to be free to do whatever you want to on any particular page!
