Re: What trends have jumped your shark?
I agree with the owls and birds..... Crowns are another one. I like skulls on boy pages, but not overkill. I still like the monsters and the cutesy pages like that.

Some of paper that came out is out for me to, especially the swirls, and stuff.

Still love my rubons! :inlove:

*GASP* You should send all of those poor, unwanted, unloved flowers to my house :winkb: :-D

Me, too! I use brads a lot more than eyelets and I have a ton of them hanging around.

Re: What trends have jumped your shark?
I've read every post with great interest. Overall I read what is not in is whatever isn't you. Fads like anything else come and go.

I still like rub-ons but I miss the thinner flourishes. I don't like and never did big ole chunky flourishes. Cute barn animals are a pet peeve, always have been always will be! Love birds especially when they look real. I love owls, but it has to do with my childhood memories of one of my grandmothers and grandfathers. I love using them on those pages. Stickers (flat), bought a ton when I first started and I've never really used them. So I use when I can. I love eyelets, especially for tags I put ribbons in, but no longer a trend... I couldn't see using a hammer and all that work for an eyelet. Love my Big Bite for it and reaching the center of my paper if nothing else for a quick hole for a flower or brad. There is a lot of food papers, embellies, etc. When I looked for them two years ago I couldn't find them anywhere.

Trends come and go. Some of the things we don't like will go.....like flowers are becoming more elaborate. Same 'ole same 'ole gets old.

Just take a look at skirts over your lifetime. They become short, then shorter, then back to knee, then longer. Now why can't we go back to Basketball Players in those adorable tight shorts of the 70's! WHEW the guys looked GOOD IN THOSE!

Re: What trends have jumped your shark?
Where shall I begin? LOL Those of you that have only been scrapping a short while don't have the amounts and kinds of things that some of us have. How about slides? Charms? Mulberry paper? I don't think those have been mentioned. That's not to say I've never used these things, because I have, and I'm sure I'll use them again because I have so many!

One thing I don't like at all, whether paper or digi, are realistic items. With paper, it's a photograph of something. With digi, the designers probabaly scan stuff like leaves and flowers. BLECH! If I want realistic, I'll photograph it myself.

I'll have to agree with the fairy tale-type stuff. Not my thing at all, and frankly, there are not too many people who can pull it off. Some I've seen are truly works of art.

I'm tired of seeing all the pink and purple princess stuff. Other colors can be just fine, though.
