I Hated Where the Wild Things Are.
I saw this movie today with 3 friends, and ALL of us HATED it. Have you guys seen it? Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought it was torturous.

I wasn't impressed with the previews, so I've not been to see it.

The only 2 people that I know that have seen it said it was TERRIBLE!
The one lady I work with was so disappointed because it is her favorite book from when she was a kid. But she also said it sucked, so you are not alone!

Yeah I had never read it and looked through it at my neighbors house the other day b/c he has a little boy. I was shocked that they made a movie on such a short story line. The previews freaked me out, so I wasn't planning on seeing it anyway.

Also I heard that the President was visiting a class and stated he had just seen it with his kids and thought it was "interesting". My neighbor cracked up laughing, b/c its never a good review when the President says is just "interesting".

I wish I disliked Obama just so I could say, "Well.... That's ONE thing the president and I agree on!"

Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favorite books to read to my students. I thought it would be something good to bring the grandsons to see. I am so disappointed to hear thaat the movie is not that good. Thanks for the info.

I never read the book. I don't go to the movies, which is another story I wish not to relate right now because I'm having trouble thinking because it is late. So I won't see it until it hits the movie. The kids haven't been yet.....and as James told me just now. Because our minds produce images in books that are better then movies if you see a movie from a book you have read it just isn't as good. Last one that happened to me was The Bridges of Madison County and he's right. The movies was good, the book excellent and I loved the book.....so much so! :-D

How disappointing. I wanted to see it so badly because it was one of DS's every-night books, as in, we read it every single night, along with several others... He wasn't sure that he wanted to be seen seeing it, if you know what I mean...you know, at 11 you have an image to preserve... I think we'll skip it now--y'all can't ALL be wrong.

That stinks....my kids want to go see it :( My 18 year old son even told my youngest he would take her to see it...so I know he wants to see it to because he can NEVER be bothered with any of us!

One of the reviews I read said that is was visually stunning, but that they spent so much time on the visuals that the plot dragged and made it boring.

I haven't seen it yet. A friend of mine took her grandson and she thought it was cute. I am wondering how they made a movie based on such a short book. It was my kids favorite book growing up. (mine too)
