Finished James Patterson's newest over the weekend. He had a co-writer on this one - Maxine Paetro. Pretty gory and suspenseful.

I've heard that James Patterson's books were really good. Do you suggest I start with his first one or does it matter what order you read his books in?

The numbered ones are a "series" in that they have the same characters throughout (called the Women's Murder Club and are numbered starting with 1st.) The stories are different in each one and I don't think you need to read them in order. The characters have an ongoing side story but aren't the main focus of each plot. His other books are independent stories. I say start with whatever of his books you can find. I have read almost every one of his books. They are a quick and entertaining read. One of my favorites of his was Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas.

Angela, have you read Janet Evanovich's books? Her Stephanie Plum series is the best ever!!!

Yeah, I think he is really pumping them out, BUT my thinking is that he uses his co-authors to do the majority of the writing (like Maxine on this one) and he edits and advises. Just my guess. I don't know how he could do all that writing and everything else he does.

I HIGHLY recommend his non-thriller books - Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Sunday's at Tiffany's. Very touching, tender stories. His Maximum Ride books are good, too. More science fiction.
