LA LA Land is going NUTS! There's a lottery to see who gets tickets and a wrist band to be able to get within 1 city block of the Staples Center in downtown LA to attend the public memorial! Talk about expensive memorabilia. I was at work when he passed, and my boss turned on the TV. EVERY network television station broke from their programming to cover his death. The going joke here is "Hey did you know Michael Jackson died?"
I always get a giggle--even the AM talk stations still ask that question. They'll go on and on about the budget crisis in California and then one of the hosts asks "Hey did you know Michael Jackson died?"
