They told me that having a bra fitted correctly would take care of some of my issues with pain that I am having. For now, I am stuck with sports bras.
My friends and I are going to have a "booby" party and go and get fitted soon.

I haven't had a professional fitting, but I've found I get the best fit when I order from Woman Within. Their having their big bra sale on now and I just got 2 more bras from them last week. If you order 4 bras within 12 months, you get one bra free.

I'm glad to hear it was just a scare, but how horrible to have to think that! Your booby party made me giggle!

I had a good fitting done a couple years ago at Lane Bryant. I can't wear their clothes but my boobs are big enough to buy there!
I love my minimizer bras.
Getting a good fit makes a WORLD of difference.

I've been fitted twice - once by a specialty bra place (when I was looking for nursing bras post baby #1) and once by Nordstroms. They agreed on size and were both nice enough. As for VS I did go there once looking for a special fit for a dress that was more of a halter top but not quite and they tried but honestly their measurements were off and the bra ended up being quite uncomfortable.

Reading about VS.
Pre-kid days. I was a 36C....went there and asked where that section was. So, I was looking. Couldn't find the size. Asked if they carried it. Wanna know what the sales girl said? Here goes...."we don't sell amazon sizes." I was shocked. Dumbfounded to say the least. Never went to a VS again.

I'm not a big VS fan either. I agree that they aren't the best place for girls who have boobs. Most of their bras have too much lift, and things just want to pop out, even in the recommended size (which they usually don't HAVE any way, because many of their bras don't go below 34 or 36 in my cup size, and I'm a 32). I learned to measure myself when I was losing weight, and I measure above my chest for my strap size (if it's an odd number, round up), then around the fullest part of my chest to determine the cup size. If the cup measurement is 1" bigger than the actual strap measurement, that's an A, 2" = B, 3" = C, 4" = D, and so on. Remember not to measure so that you are pulling the tape too tightly (no squashing or pinching ). I went in to JC Penney for a fitting when I finally got down to a stable weight and they confirmed my measurements. And told me they don't carry my size either, lol. I buy online a lot.

yes, at Kohls. They had a woman from one of the bra companies come in & do them. She was very professional and I will only wear the bra that she recommended. Changed my life! Call your local dept. stores lingerie dept and see when they have their fittings. They usually do them once or twice a year.
Lets bash Vicky's some more.
If they don't carry bras for ladies with boobs,
then
WHY???
do the pin-ups in their catalogues have gi-nor-mous boobies?
(and no, I can't psell today!)

I got home tried it on...my husband walks in and almost starts laughing so hard...I just shook my head and agreed....

I have never had it done but have wanted to....... I have a hard time find one that fits comfortable yet supports where I need it. It's frustrating!

I've always assumed that it's because many of them aren't real, and therefore just maintain a certain shape all the time, not a spilling out in the center shape like mine do (yes, even in the size VS says I should wear) as I move around during the day. Maybe if I sat realllly still, or had a photographer or assitant to, uh, wrangle them they'd stay nice and pushed up like in the catalog.jBlaze wrote: Lets bash Vicky's some more.

And why is it that the cute bras have so much padding in the larger sizes?? I really don't need my big girls pushed into my face. I'll suffocate!!!!

I'm not a fan of VS either. Everytime I've tried them out (online only as there isn't a VS in Winnipeg) they have been too small for me. That and the fact that there is too much padding in them. Usually the bigger breasted girls need less padding crazy VS! haha! I'm currently into a 36D bra but even when I was a 36C they still never fit right.
I've never been for a fitting, but would really like to and see what they say. Sometimes I even wonder if 36D is the right size cuz it sometimes feels like my boobs aren't covered properly. I don't enjoy bra shopping either! I'd say it was a pain in the butt, but really it's a pain in the boob! haha!
