You know what? I told him to do that and instead he used email! It's like he developed an allergy to the original style of communicating.

yay he got it!!!! CONGRATS!!! I still think he needs to talk to his "friemd" at some point and tell him how it made things worse instead of better. Who knows, the guy may have meant well but if he hadn;t got the job, it would have been awful.

I think his friend's intentions were good but he should have thought about the consequences before doing it. Nothing is ever "in the bag" until you get an official offer.
