Wow that is Very Ironic! Surprising he'd buy one for that particular cause... but maybe he thinks he's doing his part to give back after what horrific things he's done.
I have no tolerance for any one that hurts any individual esp children.. but he did his time so he has every right as any one to buy a lottery ticket. It was a complete game of chance that he actually won. He's just a lucky guy. They always say Karma has a funny way of showing itself.. so lets just see how all this pans out. Whether he is decent enough to give to the cause.. or what other good or bad may come of this.
The thought of that actually made me chuckle....SarahA wrote: Hopefully he actually does donate the money and isn't just saying that so nobody firebombs his new house or something.
I hope he donates more than just 100K I think he should give back 1/2.
WOW--- that just isn t right-- he should have to donatew the whole thing back!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard that on the news this morning.
One thought comes to mind ..... we have no idea what the sex crime was. He could have been 18 or 19 with a 15-16 year old girlfriend. That is considered a sex crime. I have a good friend here whose son was 19, his girlfriend was 15. He went to Juneau with the girl and her parents on a trip. Parents liked him. When the dad found out that the kids were having sex, he forced them to break up or he'd press charges against the 19 year old for sexual abuse of a minor. Fortunately, after his mom and dad beat some sense into him, he did break it off with the girl. So, all I'm saying is it could have been a similar situation. In my opinion, something like that doesn't really qualify as sexual abuse of a minor.

Mindy ~I'd give anyone the benefit of my doubt, especially the circumstances you posted but this guy offended TWICE in 93 and once again in 2000.. that's 7 years later. So... unless he was 10 years old the first and offended while he was still under 18, I can't believe he's all that innocent.
In fact, I'd say he was due to offend again (if he hasn't already done so and NOT been caught yet) by his track record.
What disturbs me is that fact that he bought a lottery ticket for this particular organization. Makes me think he's getting his rocks off perusing the different sexual abuse support websites.. that's just plain sick. :?

good point, Trish. I didn't hear the whole story . . . just that the guy was a convicted sex offender. So, yeah, in this case it's a bit creepy that he bought a ticket. But, maybe he's truely remorseful for his prior bad acts and figured buying a lottery ticket was one way to pay back society. Or, maybe he is just a creep getting his rocks off as you say.
the sick SOB is 53. Here is the actual story

They need to get the money back from that ?!?)?
The organization should protest. I saw his picture and he has a face of "I did it, got money and will do it again"
How Sick!!!
