 Ummm, is that a fiddle shape on it's back? If so, you might want to get out the spray...it would be a Brown Recluse. They can kill any muscle they happen to bite into...leaves a nasty scar and can be fatal.

If it's not a fiddle, then look all you like...I'm scared to death of spiders, even in my garden they need to go away

NO NO NO!!!  It's a garden spider!  Don't spray!  It's actually called 'garden' spider.  Very harmless/helpful!

 Funny... soon as I saw this without even looking at who posted it I had a feeling it was you Christine. I said that looks like a photo of these spiders dh and I keep finding all over our yard, it must be from someone from LI! And sure enough it was! The LI spiders this year have been huge and we constantly are finding those big intricate webs and those meaty spiders everywhere. Sometimes I spot one of those webs and I can actually can see the spider itself from across the yard! ewwwwww!

funny how you thought it was from me! There are a few of them in our yard. Mostly the front. Guessing the sun keeps 'em warm!

 This one isn't from this year but I took it last summer. It was right above one of our back doors. We are finding big webs like this and spiders like this this year too! Makes me shudder...

Pretty sure, though he's a little blurry!  Here's the little guy I saw on my garage door the other day...He is a garden spider.
