 Phone for NOW stuff.
Then email.
Texting annoys the _________________ outta me.
Neighbor boy has a cell phone. He is in 7th grade. He was out riding his dirt bike the other day..... stopped on the side of the road TEXTING! Really- what is so important at that age??? GO BE A KID!!!!! (he was 10 feet past his driveway, so I know it wasn't a parent) Why does a 12 yo even need a cell phone? I guess I could understand it if he was in after school activites, but he's not. I really don't get it. Sorry- rant over.

At work - EMAIL me... hate trying to deal with people over the phone!

But for friends and family, I prefer talking on the phone.  So much of emotion is lost in email, but in a phone conversation you can pick up more of the feeling behind what is being said.

Re: Question of the Day 9/5
 Phone, then email, then text.

With the phone I can ask questions and get immediate answers and I really get to hear how the person is doing. You miss a lot with emails. At work I try to talk to people in person as much as possible. Since I'm in Human Resources I feel it's important to be accessible to everyone and not hide in my office. This way I can see how people are doing and others can stop me if they have questions or concerns. The other benefit is the little exercise I get when I get away from my desk.

Emails for quick things, but when the topic is more involved, then I prefer the phone.  Also prefer the phone when talking to my girlfriends! Just prefer to hear their voices.

Re: Question of the Day 9/5
I prefer email.  A phone is an intrusion.  I can send an email and the receipant isn't bothered until they have the time to answer.  If it is something that needs an immediate response, it is the phone.  Texting isn't easy with my current phone and besides that, it takes too long.

Color me ancient, but I prefer the written letter or phone. On either of those, you get a much clearer picture of voice inflection.  That can mean a world of difference.  Email is ok, especially when in a group like this.

Re: Question of the Day 9/5
I pick answering machine :)  I hate talking on the phone too, and I hate the interruption of a ringing phone. I turn mine off a LOT! If its important they'll leave a message.
And I'm terrible about checking my email/facebook - like every few days - and my cell hasn't had minutes in months so no texting either.
I guess I just don't like being "on call" at all!

Re: Question of the Day 9/5
DEFINITELY email! The phone just bugs me now...or maybe it's the people who are phoning, LOL

I screen all my calls, and end up calling back later for most of them, because I know if my BFF gets me on the phone, I'd better have an hour to give her!
