Praying for you all! Please keep safe and get the heck out of there!!
We're staying at home, buckling down. We have batteries, water, food, ice and if we stay out of lights for too long, we are going to my mil's house - they have a generator. I will be watching Amelia very close to make sure that she doesn't get overheated. By the time it gets to us, it's probably going to be a catagory 1 hurricane - which we have gone through already. We do not flood over here and we're far away enough from the coast - we don't worry about storm surge. I have family and friends in South south La that I am worried about - some have evacuated, some have not. I pray for those that didn't - at the bare min they could have come to us.
Just keep us in your thoughts, as soon as we are back up and normal again, I'll come back and let you guys know what's going on again. Thanks guys! Talk to you all again soon!

Thinking of and praying for all you LA gals!!! Stay SAFE!!!!! (((((((hugs))))))))
On a molecular level, I'm very busy.
Well, we are starting to feel the outer bands of Gustav. Nothing major....not even a raindrop yet. Everything is closed. We are staying here. We weathered Katrina in our home and feel safe.
Gustav seems to be weakening a little bit...his pressure is increasing (GREAT news!) and he is coming towards land quickly. Yesterday they were talking about a Cat 5...now he is a Cat 3.....
I will try to keep you posted as long as we have power. I expect to loose it early tomorrow morning. We will have cell service, but nothing else.
More later!

Stay safe. Thoughts are with you.
Be safe everyone on the Gulf Coast. Hope everyone can come out of this one well.
My mom just emailed us. She was signing off and sending one last email before shutting down the computer. She is in Baton Rouge, her neighbors have helped her prepare and she is ready to ride out the storm. The big thing I'm concerned about are her trees. She has only lived there 2 years and already had 2 trees come down in far more calm storms. So hopefull the wind isn't to bad.

Stopping by once again for what I am treating as my last few moments on the internet and computer. I am unloading my camera memory cards onto my external harddrive before I stick that in a drawer in my closet. We got our first rain and wind a couple of hours ago, I think New orleans is really starting to get some good stuff. I suspect that during the night, we are going to get some more. The bad stuff is supposed to be here by late tomorrow afternoon, and will last into the night I think. The bathtubs are filled with water, we are all clean for now, the last dirty clothes are in the washer. We have all our flashlights ready with new batteries, some candles, lanterns, and what is the smallest battery operated tv known to man (like 5 inch I guess.) Cell phones are charging. Pretty much nothing else we can do. Hopefully we're doing all this for nothing and we never lose power! lol Wishful thinking. Talk to all you ladies later!!! Please think some good thoughts and say a prayer for us!
